Dear Mr. Stokesbury,
With reference to my letter of the 20th January, I now enclose copy of a
savingram, recently received from the Governor of Hong Kong, together with the promised list of Police Inspectorate, appointed from the United Kingdom Police Forces to Hong Kong, since the war.
I also enclose a copy of our reply to the Governor, in which we are pointing out that members of the Metropolitan Folice Force, serving in Hong Kong are regarded as temporarily transferred and not seconded to the Colony.
It seems that the Hong Kong Secretariat just cannot appreciate the difference!
Yours sincerely,
gd. (W.S.Nicholls).
H. W. STOKESBURY, ESQ.
